Organising the St. Patrick's Day Parade
The first Munich St. Patrick's Day Parade was held in Munich in 1996. It was organised by a few Irish people and their Munich friends. The organiser plane for 200 people - 3000 turned up. One thing was clear - a new tradition had begun.
Since then, many individuals and clubs give their time to organise the parade - all on a voluntary basis. The Deutsch Irischer Freundeskreis handed over the running of the parade to the Munich-Irish-Network e.V in 2015, having run the Parade successfully for so many years. Munich-Irish-Network e.V form an organising committee for the Parade and Festival from its members.
